Report Designer question

Hi gurus.
I have the following challenge:
Let's imagine you have a report containing a table/list of salespeople from
one table, their sales per year from another table, and thirdly for instance
the salesperson's zip code.
If a given salesperson have sales in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, he will have
3 rows returned in the list, and the same zip code listed 4 times.
What you do not want for the report is that the total for the zip coded
column is summed up, so it shows 4 times the zip code. You just want the
single zip code returned on the summary line.
Is there an easy way to achieve this?
Kind Regards,
Torkild HagenYou can use First(Fields!fieldname.value) instead of Sum.

Report Builder - Numeric Aggregate Aggravation

So I'm building a report model containing several 8 or so numeric amounts. All amounts are numeric(10,2), and there is nothing that would differentiate the columns other than their names.

One of the columns WILL NOT generate any aggregates. It just appears as an attribute. It's inexplicable.

I've even tried to build a model containing just this one numeric attribute, and it still does not work!! VS just hates this one element! Anyone seen anything like this?

I'm running VS 2005 Sp1.

Ah, the beauties of "automagic" model generation. :)

In this case, model generation thinks it's an "ID" column because it's numeric and it ends in "id", so it doesn't bother to generate aggregates. You'll have to do it manually, or change the name temporarily to fool it.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTT?

What genius came up with that! Any why would an ID field be numeric 10,2!!

Thank you thank you thank you!

And how do you do manual specification of aggregates in the model?

ReporItems referring to a cell containing a subreport?

Hi guys,

i have a column in a report that must calculate a percentage based on two columns that follow them. I am aware that i can use the ReportItems! collection for this, but one of the columns i need to reference is actually a subreport because its data comes from a different source. It is just a single cell subreport, which makes it appear totally part of the table it is in. Is this possible? Just to be clear, what i want is an expression like this in my cell:

= FormatPercent( ReportItems!CurrentEarnings / ReportItems!BudgetedEarnings )

the BudgetedEarnings cell is actually a subreport, but all i want is the text it is showing.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

No, referring to a report item in a subreport is not allowed.
