Report Designer Install

I am trying to add report designer to a new development machine (XP
professional sp2) that has VS 2003 installed. The machine does not have IIS
installed. I am using the MSDN August 2005 DVD 2432.10 that has SQL &
Reporting Services. I keep getting the dialog box indicating a missing IIS
and ASP.net then an abend. I used to get a dialog box where I could select
the client options, but the install stops before presenting the options.
Anyone else encountering this condition?
TIA - RonWhat is happening is that you are trying to install everything, not just the
designer. RS requires IIS to be installed. The designer does not.

But where do I designate to just install the designer? It stops before
there is any "selection" screen.

me I don't have IIS, asp.net etc (which I don't on my development machine a
XP Pro SP2). However you can keep clicking next. There is one place where it
takes awhile for the next button to appear. After that I was told I already
have it installed so I could not get to the screen you would want. If setup
is crashing after you leave the spot where it tells you that you are missing
IIS and asp.net then I don't know what to tell you.

Yes, those are the messages I get, and when I press next I only get a
sccreen where cancel is the only option. I just don't get the "selection"
screen.
Thanks for looking. Ron

Report Builder Filter Newbie Question

Sorry for the newbie question.

I've just started building a report to display my IIS logs. I want to filter out all internal IP's, how would I do this?

Thanx

I've figured out NOT but how do I use a range of IP's?

Could I use a wild card

<>"192.168.1.*"

Or should I give it a range'

<>"192.168.1.1-192.168.1.254"

Thanx

|||

Try this

In Filter list

Use an expression instead of selecting the field/column itself like

if u have IPField

left(IPField,10) (this gives value - 192.168.1. (10 chars))

In Operator use != (Not equals)

In Value use an expression = "192.168.1."

Hope this helps u

Report Builder Button does not appear

For users who are not admins on the IIS server the report builder button just doesn't appear. Any idea on why this would be?

Please review the link below and let us know if this fixes your issue.

Thank you. I don't know how I missed that one in my searching since the header was so similar to mine. Thank you for being so understanding and providing the link.
