Report Designer VS. 2003 Interface Failure

Our current VS2003 installed on 2000 Sever sp4 and Reporting Service
will not longer interface.
When trying to open a report project we recieve the error "Th
application for Project XXX.rptproj is not installed" "Make sure th
application for project type (.rptproj) is installed".
Has anyone ever seen this error before or have any suggestions?
We have built a number of reports and deployed them, but we are n
longer able to open the project to make modifications. We are als
unable to create a new report project without receiving the sam
errorDid you install or remove any software recently? Did you try reinstalling
Report Designer?

Report designer client component?

I have seen reference to the above component - can anyone
please tell me what it is? Is it an optional part of
VS2003 installation?

JBReport Designer is SQL Server 2000 Reporting Service's report authoring
tool. It is hosted within the Visual Studio 2003 .NET shell. This means that
you have to have some component (VB .NET satisfies this requirement) of VS
2003 .NET on your machine prior to install Report Designer
