Report Deployment Error:

Hi while deploying the reports to the server I get the following error.
Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction:
http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2003/10/reportingservices/ListSecureMethods.
Could anyone help me to overcome this?
Please mention if any configuration changes are to be made.
Thanks.Looks like a version mismatch between your client (VS.NET) and your
server... open http://<servername>/reportserver and in VS.NET open Help |
About Microsoft Development Environment and select "Microsoft SQL Server
Report Designer"... compare the version numbers

Report Deployment Error on --http://localhost/reportserver

I am getting the following ERROR!! below when I try to DEPLOY my report. The output generated from - Debug --> Start
-- Deploy started: Project: Report Project1, Configuration: DebugLocal --
Deploying to http://localhost/reportserver/?%2fReport+Project1
Error rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable : The report server cannot opena connection to the report server database. A connection to thedatabase is required for all requests and processing.

=====================================================

When I try to go tohttp://<server>/reportserver a PROMT window pop up "Enter username and password for "" at http://localhost. Atthis point I'm pretty desperate to get it to work., I have been tryingfor couple of days. I reinstalled reporting services couple of timeswith no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi it sounds to me the AspNet user or the user used in your dataset don't have access to your SRS database( "ReportServer" DB) . Check the permissions of the SQL Reporting Services database. Also you can't deploy to a server not running the SRS Server, unless you are on a SQL reporting server as localhost . I assume you clicked 'play' in VS.Net ? You need to deploy to a SRS Server.

Report conver to PDF format issue?

Hi All:

When i am trying to save the report (http) as PDF format, how can i make sure the format is what i want?

Becuase currently what i got is that it splits the report as half by saving PDF, and each half as one page.

Any helpf will be appreciated.

Cheers

Nick

Hi Nick,

Lets assume you want A4 format, lanscape.

Go to the report properties (main menu) and select the "Layout" tab. Now fill in these vaules:

Page height: 8.27in; Page width:11.69in; All four margin fiels 0.2in.

Click OK

Now click an empty spot on your report, so your "body" will be selected and check the layout / size properties.

It's important that the size of your body in the report is smaller than your page layout, minus your margins, so this should max. be 8.27-0.4 = 7.87in by 11.69-0.4 = 11.29in

Thanks Jeroen Alblas,

i couldn't see four margin fields in report properties.

My report can print out just fit one page but not PDF format, which splits to two pages.

Cheers

I found it.

Now it's working. I can print out as PDF format perfectly

Thanks Jeroen Alblas

ArshadIs .NET Framework 2.0 installed on the client? Could you check your server
logs to see if any errors are being generated?

Report Builder Hyperlink Column

If I have an entity that returns a column that has a URL in it like http://www.microsoft.com, can I make that a live hyperlink in a Report Builder tabular report?

No, this is not supported in this release.

You can create the report in Report Builder, then open it in Report Designer and modify it to get this behavior, however.

Report Builder fatal error

and yeee it′s me again :-)

cannot load the report buider from http://localhost/reports

result is always:
Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting

Mikky|||Hello, Mikky

Did you find solution? I have the same problem :(

Andrius|||Is this the server machine? If not, have you tried to reinstall the .NET Framework on this machine? If so, does it also fail with http://machinename/reports instead of localhost?

Also, make sure you don't have any previous versions of Report Builder in the application cache. Although it should grab the new version, this has been a bit flaky at times.|||hello brian,

thanks for your response,

yes it is the server machine, acutally i am totally afraid to reinstall .NET framework 2.0 should i really try it? hmmm

how can i see if there is any (it should not, but...) previous version of report builder in the appliaction cache?

please let me know!

kind regards from austria

Mikky|||hey again brian,

i tried it now with http://machinename /reports instead of http://localhost/reports and hey THAT′s IT!!!

thanks but why the heck is it like that?

Report Builder - Can't Deploy

I am having a problem deploying a report. My target server url is
http://localhost/vbreports. I can get to this site with no problem. When I
deploy my report I get the error "A connection could not be made to the
report server http://localhost/vbreports".
Any help would be appreciated.

That is the url to access report manager application.
Reports are deployed to the reportserver application, typically
http://localhost/reportserver, or in your case, maybe http://localhost/vbreportserver
Rowen McDermott|||Thank you. Now I can deploy but the IE screen for the reportserver shows a
wierd screen. It shows a directory view and when I click on my models and
click on the model that I deployed I see the xml code instead of it running
the report builder. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rob

It sounds like you are getting confused between the report server
application and the report manager application. Both are installed
with reporting services.
The report server application 'http://localhost/reportserver' is the
primary application and includes a web service interface which can be
used to view reports. Reports are deployed to this application via the
web service.
The Report Manager application 'http://softwareserver/Reports/' is an
interface to the above web service that allows report viewing in a
more friendly manner. It is from here that you run report builder.
Rowen|||Thanks Rowen. I discovered my error last night. I can now deploy my model.
But when I open the report builder and choose my model I get the error: The
selected data source does not have any content available. I have checked the
table in the SQL database and there are records.
