Report Builder not available?

Hi,

I have just installed Sql Server 2005 Express Adv. Services and
found out that the Report Builder is not accessible.

Is it not possible at all to get Report Builder together with
Sql Server 2005 Express?

If not, are there any other way to create reports instead of the
Report Designer in Business Intelligence Development Studio?

Report Builder is available in Workgroup, Standard and Enterprise editions of SQL Server 2005

So if our customers wants to create reports they will
either need to use the Report Designer in Business
Intelligence Development Studio or upgrade to one
of the SQL Server editions you mentioned above?

Or are there other (free) alternatives for the Express
edition?

yep, spot on

report builder good for giving non techie users some basic reprot creation skills, BIDS use for model creation, and advanced reporting, standard report publishing etc.

if your customers are using this then its a production environment so its gonna be workgroup/std or enterprise edtn. i doubt express will meet needs, its similar concept to msde.

to my knowledge there is are no other free versions, express just used for trial of the basics and low usage db.

It's a pity and strange that the Report Builder isn't available for the
Express Edition. The BIDS is too advanced for practically all of our
customers, RB would have been perfect.

Can't have it all I guess :)
